CONTENTS:

Sites are constructed from text, graphics and photographs, in varying proportions.

Text

The main information on a web page is usually contained in the text, with no tight size restrictions (such as column inches). As much text as you require may be included, from 2 or 3 paragraphs to large multi-page documents that may be downloaded and viewed off-line or printed at your customers premises.

Graphics

Most sites have a number of graphical items added to make it more interesting and pleasing to the eye. The borders, icons and logos impose a style on the site, and also provide a set of buttons and controls that are the main mechanism through which the site is operated. Our designers can produce graphics in many forms, to suit your company.

Fine Art

Our in-house artist will produce high quality fine art drawings specific to your company needs. Such drawings can provide a number of advantages to a site;  they can soften it, and give a feeling of quality. Drawings and sketches may be used to make descriptions of product ranges less particular.

Photographs

Photographs are a common source of information, providing an accurate description of an item, or place. It can be necessary to digitally enhance them - for instance you may wish to remove an item that detracts from what you are trying to show, tidy the finish or straighten an awkward angle.

Active Items

Pages may also be enhanced with active items. Commonly we will attach icons and graphics as mentioned above, but these may be made more effective in a number of ways:-
  • They can alter as the cursor glides over them.
  • They may be constantly moving.
  • They can change if they have been clicked.
  • One graphic may affect another.
  • Forms may be included to perform calculations or to collect information for sending back to base. As well as showing information in the current screen, extra screens can be 'popped up' to display anything that could have been on the main form.
If your browser supports javascript and you enter numbers
into the next 2 boxes they will be multiplied together and
the result placed into the third.

Server generated pages

Most of the things described above are included on static pages, however, we can also create dynamic pages. These are screens of information that are put together at the time that they are requested, often used to display results of searches etc.
